Hair Removal for Blonde, Fine & Red Hair.

Intense Pulsed Light and Laser treatments have limited effect on red hairs and no effect on blond hairs, simply due to the fact that there is so little pigment in the hair for the light to be attracted to.

There are several solutions for this. To conduct IPL Laser treatments for permanent management of unwanted hairs, you can use Meladine – a patented product from the USA available exclusively at Terra Nova Body Clinic in New Zealand.

Meladine is a spray on product that will effectively add pigment to the hairs pre treatment. 4 sprays need to be applied morning and night for a couple of weeks leading up to each treatment. Contact us for more information on this product!

We also highly recommend our Alkaline Wash for blonde and red toned facial hairs. This is a paste that is applied to the hairs for a very short time, during which the hairs will be dissolved right to the root.

Progressively over a number of treatments, re-growth will slow and fewer hairs will grow back. As the hair is removed at its base, it will take around 6 weeks for it to re-grow, and the tip of the hair will be soft.

We recommend a course of 6 – 8 treatments of both Meladine and Alkaline Wash over around 6 months.

Each Alkaline treatment will cost between $40 - $65 depending on the surface area to be covered and will take about 15 – 20 minutes. The treatment is completely pain free.
