Waxing

Waxing is a great way to temporarily remove body hair. The hair is pulled out by the root, and thus will take about 5 – 6 weeks or perhaps longer to regrow. We prefer to use ‘hot wax’ on mens chests and backs to make the treatment more thorough. Strip wax is quicker, but can end up breaking the hair: undermining the success of the treatment.

The prices below are using strip wax, which is the fastest and cheapest option. Please let us know if you prefer hot wax, as this taken longer and is around 25% more expensive

IPL Laser Hair Removal

Men generally have more hair than women, which means that generally speaking, slightly more treatment would be needed. For torso and leg areas, the treatment cycle would be slightly longer than for women’s treatments, as male hair grows at a slightly slower rate than female hair. In all other regards, IPL laser hair removal is the same for men as for women. All external body parts can be treated. Skin Treatments

While male skin is fundamentally the same as female, there are some differences. A full consultation and skin analysis would be a good starting place.

For most men wanting to achieve an anti-age result, we recommend starting with a short series of skin peels tailored to your skins needs: usually including Glycolic or Lactic Peels, which result in a smoother skin texture post treatment. Glycolics are from the Alpha Hydroxy family: derived from cane sugar. Treatments will progressively reduce lines and smooth skin texture. We recommend a course of 4 – 6 treatments spaced around 10 days apart. Some visible Peeling follows about 3 days after the treatment, but is more of a gentle flaking than a full on peeling. Superficial skin layers are refreshed, and the skin looks healthy & softened.

Glycolics are best delivered in tandem with microdermabrasion at the same time in a 45 minute treatment: accelerateing collagen production deeper in the skin while refreshing the skin’s surface. You will look slightly flushed post treatment for perhaps an hour. Later in the evening you may find skin goes a little redder than normal also, but by the morning there is no residual redness.

Deeper peels including TCA Chemical Peel, Jessner Peel, Liquid Laser and Pro Alpha resurface can only be done in winter months. Results from these treatments are outstanding, but up to 2 weeks downtime is required where skin will be red and/or peeling.

IPL for elimination of fine lines, for pigmentation and for capillary veins is also a great option for both men and women. IPL is more invasive than most other treatments however and is likely to make facial hair patchy post treatment and is also likely to leave you looking blotchy for about a week. Usually we prefer to use peels and microdermabrasion to clear superficial pigmentation, generate increased collagen production and then assess if IPL is still.

A good skin care regime at home is a mandatory with skin treatments. We recommend the Danne range as a highly effective, inexpensive, no fuss regime: perfect for male clients.
